Slanted News Reports-CNN
I think the last couple of years during high school and now has made me more aware of the way America reports its news and the established notions Americans have of each of its major news outlets. For example, I think it is well known that Fox news is considered a right-wing source of news and CNN is a more moderate left-wing source. It seems from what I've experienced there really is no in-between when it comes to news in American news. However, a good source or target rather is to see foreign news outlets report on American news topics; this reporter often has no benefit of making one side look good. In one report I found by Sky News Australia they report on CNN's Chris Cumos Report on Donald trump not wearing a mask.
Watch the video above, The Aussie reporter Kenny shows Chris Cumos's report of Donald trump not wearing a mask. The language Chris uses is very sarcastic and slightly patronizing, mocking previous remarks of the president. I think even without the information Kenny makes from sky news you can tell by the language Chris uses he is very one side of his agreement. I think as a viewer this would make people either really happy, mad, or confused because of the different political spectrum we have in America. As for credibility, I think it diminishes the viewer's trust in receiving unbiased news. This video is almost a two sides slant because we can also critique Sky news Australian news report in the same sense, however as I mentioned before I feel that they would have less of a reason to have a particular angle with American news.
Hi Nate! Even if body language or wearing masks are seem like insignificant things, they are so crucial to maintain a professional and trustworthy image. I completely agree with your analysis!
